Invel appoints Niamh Canavan as its inaugural Head of Investor Relations

Invel Real Estate (‘Invel’), the real estate investment and asset manager focused on south-east Europe and other selected European markets, has appointed Niamh Canavan as Head of Investor Relations.

Joining the team in London, Niamh will lead Invel’s IR team and will be responsible for the identification and development of potential new investors, the sourcing of equity for Invel’s various products, including co-mingled funds, co-investments, club deals and individual mandates, and institutionalising investor reporting across all jurisdictions and projects.

Niamh brings nearly 20 years of experience across capital raising, real estate, financial institutions, alternatives and credit. Niamh spent a significant portion of her career on the deal side working at the Investment Banks of Bank of America, HSBC and Europe’s leading credit hedge fund, Cheyne Capital. For the past five years, Niamh has worked across capital raising and investor relations for private equity, infrastructure and real estate firms; most recently at BNP Paribas REIM and Hermes Infrastructure

Chris Papachristophorou, Managing Partner and founder of Invel, said: “The appointment of Niamh as Invel’s first Head of Investor Relations is an exciting milestone for the firm. Since inception in 2013, we have worked consistently to bring the very best deals in geographies and investment themes where we can offer extraordinary expertise to our investors. Building on our proven track record, we are confident that the time is now right for our business to take the next step in  raising discretionary capital alongside our traditional deal-by-deal and co-investment model. Niamh brings a highly impressive track record and is well positioned to help Invel in the next stage of its growth. We very much look forward to working with her.”

Niamh Canavan said:  “This is a great opportunity to join a company that is at a pivotal stage in its evolution. Invel’s stellar track record in originating and executing sophisticated transactions has strong appeal for institutional investors and I look forward to working with the team to continue the successful development of the firm.”
