Chris Papachristophorou

Managing Partner

Chris is the Founder and Managing Partner of Invel and in this capacity, he oversees all strategic decisions. Since founding Invel, Chris has been responsible for the origination and execution of its investment program. Invel’s largest investment to date was the acquisition of 66% of Prodea Investments (previously NBG Pangaea) from NBG in 2013, followed by the acquisition of NBG’s remaining participation of 32% in 2019. Since the acquisition, he has been instrumental in creating a new vision and strategy for Prodea Investments whilst implementing a very successful acquisition and financing program that led to a significant growth in Prodea Investments’ portfolio, tenant diversification and profitability.

Prior to Invel, Chris was a Managing Director and Global Head of Deutsche Bank RREEF Opportunistic Investments (ROI), the private equity real estate arm of Deutsche Bank that specialises in high yield real estate investment strategies. Previously, he was the Co-CEO for RREEF Alternatives in Europe, Middle East and Northern Africa and was instrumental in consolidating RREEF’s broader alternatives platform in the EMEA region. While at RREEF, Chris completed and/or restructured over 60 investments totalling in excess of €20bn of gross asset value. Amongst others, he led the corporate restructuring, refinancing and repositioning of the French department store Le Printemps, the acquisition, repositioning and subsequent sale of La Rinascente, Italy’s leading department store as well as the acquisition, subsequent restructuring and sale of Newreal S.p.A, then the commercial real estate subsidiary of Enel, Italy’s largest power company.

Chris received a BSc in Economics from London School of Economics, a master’s degree from the Business School of Bocconi, Italy, and is fluent in English, Italian and Greek and proficient in French.
